About Me
Hey y'all! My name is Jordan Tyler and this is my first semester at ULM. I'm new to Louisiana. I got married last year and moved from Texas. I was born and raised in Dallas so things are very different here, but I'm loving it. I am a SPED 6-12 teacher in Jackson Parish and I absolutely LOVE my job! My statement for the classroom is "Teaching is paying attention to the needs, experiences, and feelings of the students, and intervene so that they learn certain things, and go beyond the norm. We use technology so that it can be used to build fundamental skills to prepare for future independent learning to reinforce math, spelling, phonetic, and reading skills."
Work Experience
2021-Present
I currently work at Quitman High School in Louisiana. I am the Secondary Special Education Teacher 6-12 grade. I love my job! This is my first year at this school and in Louisiana.
2019-2021
I worked for Sunnyvale ISD. My first year there, I taught 3rd grade math and absolutely loved it. After that, I moved over to the middle school where I was the Special Education Resource/Inclusion Teacher for 6-8 grade.
2016-2019
I worked for Garland ISD. I started out as a Special Education aide for Kinder-5th grade at Walnut Glen Academy. I loved it so much that I decided to enroll in an alternative teaching program. I got my EC-6th Certification and taught self contained 1st grade. After my first year as a first grade teacher, they moved me up to 4th Grade ELAR and had the best team on the planet, Dr. Limerick and Mrs. Kirk!
